I. Tongwei Solar (Hefei) Co., Ltd.
Tongwei Solar (TW Solar) is dedicated to R&D, manufacture and marketing of core solar power products. As the world’s largest crystalline silicon solar cell enterprise, Tongwei Solar has two bases in Hefei and Chengdu and over 6,000 full-time employees.
TW Solar base in Hefei went into operation on November 18, 2013. It is located in Hefei Hi-tech Industry Development Zone, Anhui province.
Hefei Base (Phase I) has solar cell capacity of 2.4GW, solar module capacity of 1,150MW, 5 poly-crystalline silicon cell production workshops, 1 module production workshop and 40 cell production lines, which makes it a leading manufacturer in solar PV industry.
Hefei Base (Phase II) started the project of 2.3-GW efficient crystalline silicon solar cell on November 8, 2017 and a total of 2.175 billion yuan was invested.TW Solar boast the capacity of 12-GW efficient crystalline silicon solar cells, which will further reduce cost and increase efficiency, boost profitability and competitiveness and consolidate the leadership in efficient crystalline silicon solar cell industry.
On November 8, 2017, Hefei Base started the project of 10-GW efficient crystalline silicon solar cell.
II. Tongwei Solar (Chengdu) Co., Ltd.
TW Solar base in Chengdu is located in Shuangliu District, Chengdu, Sichuan province. Chengdu Base (Phase I) started the project of 1-GW efficient crystalline silicon solar cell production line on November 18, 2015, and it was put into operation on June 30, 2016. It took only 7 months to complete the construction, which won positive media reviews of “Tongwei Speed”, “Shuangliu Speed” and “Chengdu Speed”. In addition, it has become a model project in global solar PV industry in terms of fast construction, fast operation, fast production and fast profitability.
Chengdu Base (Phase II) started the project of 2-GW efficient crystalline silicon solar cell production line on February 18, 2017, and it was put into operation on September 20, 2017. It took only 7 months to complete the project even in the case of doubled amount of production capacity and construction works, which further shortened the construction period. Phase II production line has been upgraded into automated manufacturing, becoming the model project of “smart manufacturing” in Chengdu. In addition, it pioneers in building digital workshop and smart factory and achieves the goal of clean energy “Made in Chengdu”. Meanwhile, it is actively engaged in developing national smart manufacturing demonstration base.
Chengdu Base (Phase III) started the project of 3.2-GW efficient crystalline silicon solar cell in the end of 2017 and was put into operation on November 18, 2018. A total of 2.023 billion yuan was invested. The project adopts PERC technology, focuses primarily on smart manufacturing of efficient mono-crystalline silicon cells and builds smart factory and digital workshop. Compared with common semi-automated production lines, this project will save 10% non-crystalline silicon cost and achieve 120% of the designed production capacity. It has become the single largest efficient crystalline silicon solar cell project that enjoys the leadership in production technology, equipment, automation and intelligentization in global solar PV industry.
On November 18, 2017, Chengdu Base started the project of 10-GW efficient crystalline silicon solar cell.
On November 18, 2018, TW Solar started the project of 1-GW ultra-efficient hetero-junction solar cell.
